Industrial Electrician

Location: Gouverneur, New York, United States

Summary

We are seeking a qualified Industrial Electrician to work at specialized zinc and graphite mines near Gouverneur, New York. The location is within a two-hour drive of the Thousand Islands, the Lake Ontario shoreline, the Adirondack Mountains, and Lake Placid. Montreal and Ottawa are approximately two to three hours away.

Responsibilities

• Support continued production by collaborating with sitewide crews.
• Run cable, wire, and communication lines.
• Mount junction boxes, control boxes, switch boxes, and related mechanical installations.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components, including PLC panels, drives, motors, pumps, and generators.
• Work with 4–20 mA systems; 4,160 V and 13.8 kV systems; AC voltages up to 480 V; 5 kVA systems; and DC voltages.
• Read and follow electrical prints.
• Test and troubleshoot circuits, motors, fans, controllers, VFDs, and transformers.
• Complete terminations and splicing, including high-voltage splices.
• Develop knowledge of hoisting and crushing operations and troubleshoot related systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of relevant industrial electrical experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• PLC experience.
• Experience with DC, AC, and drive systems.
• Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions and perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Ability to perform safety-sensitive work in a manner that does not pose a direct threat to personal or workplace health and safety.
