Schedule - 1, 2, or 3 Full Coverage Blocks Per Month
- Each Coverage Block Includes Hospital-Based Procedures, Consultations, and Overnight Call
- Providers Must Complete the Entire Assigned Block
- Partial Block Coverage Not Accepted
Coverage Block Schedule - Friday: 12:00 PM-5:00 PM Hospital Coverage; 5:00 PM-7:00 AM Overnight Call
- Saturday: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Hospital Coverage; 5:00 PM-7:00 AM Overnight Call
- Sunday: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Hospital Coverage; 5:00 PM-7:00 AM Overnight Call
- Monday: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Hospital Coverage
- Tuesday: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Hospital Coverage
- Wednesday: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Hospital Coverage
- Thursday: 7:00 AM-5:00 PM Hospital Coverage; 5:00 PM-7:00 AM Overnight Call
- Friday: 7:00 AM-12:00 PM Hospital Coverage
Call Coverage - Overnight Call Required
- Call Hours: 5:00 PM-7:00 AM on Assigned Nights
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Thursday Overnight Call During Each Coverage Block
- Weekend Call Required
- Hospital-Based Consultations and Procedures During Scheduled Daytime Hours
Patient Population - Adult Patients: 18 Years and Older
- Hospitalized Gastroenterology Patients
- Patients Requiring Gastroenterology Consultations
- Patients Requiring Gastrointestinal Procedures
Clinical Responsibilities - Provide Inpatient Gastroenterology Coverage
- Evaluate and Manage Hospitalized Gastroenterology Patients
- Perform Gastroenterology Consultations
- Perform Gastrointestinal Procedures
- Respond to Gastroenterology Consult Requests
- Provide Weekend Gastroenterology Coverage
- Provide Overnight Gastroenterology Call Coverage
- Coordinate Patient Care With Advanced Practice Providers and Hospital Staff
- Collaborate With In-House Anesthesia Services
- Document Patient Evaluations, Procedures, and Treatment Plans in Epic
Procedures / Skills - Hospital-Based Gastroenterology Procedures
- Inpatient Gastroenterology Consultations
- ERCP - Preferred
- EUS - Not Required

Clinical Environment / Support - Acute Care Hospital
- Advanced Practice Provider Support: Monday-Friday, Approximately 8:00 PM
- APP Assistance With Hospital Consultations
- APP Support Not Available on Weekday Holidays
- In-House Anesthesia Available

Requirements - Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology - Required
- At Least 2 Years of Clinical Experience in Gastroenterology - Required
- Pennsylvania Medical License - Required Before Starting
- Candidates Requiring Pennsylvania Licensure May Be Considered
- DEA Registration - Required
- Experience Providing Inpatient Gastroenterology Consultations
- Experience Performing Gastroenterology Procedures
- ERCP Experience - Preferred
- Comfortable Providing Overnight and Weekend Call Coverage
- Must Be Available for Complete Coverage Blocks
- Must Be Comfortable Providing Hospital-Based Gastroenterology Services

- Minimum 2 Years of Gastroenterology Experience
- Inpatient Gastroenterology Experience
- Gastroenterology Procedural Experience
- ERCP Experience, if Applicable
- Availability for 1, 2, or 3 Full Coverage Blocks Per Month
- Confirmation of Overnight and Weekend Call Availability

Credentialing - Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 Days
